Don’t Rush Through Learning To Drive

Learning to drive can be a tedious process – After all, there’s no guarantee that you are certain to pass your driving test after ten, twenty, fifty, or a hundred lessons – Every driver is different, so sometimes you need to practice a little patience.

We would advise not to rush through your driving lessons – Take your time, make sure you feel fully confident behind the wheel before attempting your driving test. Not only will this improve your chances of success, it will also help to make you a much safer driver in the long run.

Don’t Drive In Stormy Weather

There are a wide number of hazards that could befall you whilst behind the wheel – Ranging from the items of clothing you choose to wear, the music you listen to whilst driving, and the time of year you are driving during – Autumn and Winter, we’re looking at you!

One good point to mention would be to avoid driving in a storm, wherever possible. Although you may feel safe in your car, the roads will become dangerous when wet, plus the reduces visibility and the risk of debris in the roads can be a truly dangerous obstacle.

Offering To Drive For Others

When you’re in a group of fellow drivers – Whether it be your family, friends, or even work colleagues – Sometimes you find that you need to decide who is going to take the responsibility of driving, when it comes to going on holiday, going out for a night, or going to a work meeting.

So how to decide who takes this responsibility? You could always leave it to chance – Flip a coin, or draw straws – But why not make it more fair? Take it in turns to drive, or start a carpool going, and you will likely find a happier bunch of passengers in your car most days.

Storing Things In Your Car

You might often find that your car has more uses than just as a vehicle – After all, many of us spend a good proportion of our time in our cars every day, whether that’s on commuting, driving for a living or as a useful tool when moving house.

A lot of us might even use our cars as additional storage space – After all, all that boot space shouldn’t go to waste! We would just advise to avoid keeping any valuables out of your car overnight, as well as to keep an eye on the overall weight of your vehicle.

Don’t Scratch Your Car

Keeping on top of your car is an important habit to get into – Making sure you always have enough fuel and oil in your vehicle is vital to maintaining a healthy car at all times. But what about more cosmetic side of things, like looking after the bodywork?

One main way to keep your car looking as good as possible is to make sure to avoid scratching the body – Which is more easily done than most think, either by carrying your keys in your hand or pocket, or by general wear and tear when doing things such as moving house.

Driving Towards Warmer Weather

We’re sure we have all had quite enough of this colder weather – The winter of 2017/18 has been a particularly notorious one, with the Beast From The East resurfacing to cover most of the country with a thick blanket of snow time and time again. Dare we say it however, but we think we might just be making our way to warmer weather.

Fingers crossed the summer will soon be here – Time to get those windows open, take convertible roofs down, and take to the roads to make the most of Summer 2018 – Who knows how long it might last, before we are firmly back in the grip of another mini ice age?

Keeping Your Keys Safe

It’s an old cliche these days, but we’re sure it happens to each of us more often than we would like to admit. Yes, misplacing your car keys is a common source of annoyance, irritation and nuisance to us – but it’s a part of everyday life for modern day drivers!

Our tips for keeping your keys safe are to have one safe place at home to store them – A bedside drawer perhaps, or on a key hook. If you are out and about, always keep them on your person – In the same jacket pocket, or in the same part of your handbag, so you know where they are at all times… Just make sure not to lock them in your car!
