Driving Safely In Groups

When it comes to the summer, there’s no better feeling than getting out early on a hot, sunny day with a few friends and going for a drive to enjoy the warm weather. The more the merrier, all it means is taking a few cars so everyone gets to come along!

However if you will be driving in a group of other cars, remember to always keep your distance and avoid the temptation to get too close to your friends cars – If the car in front of you needs to brake without warning, you are likely to be involved in a road accident.

Drink-Driving Vs Mobile Driving

Any sensible driver knows that there are few threats you can face when behind the wheel as severe as a driver who is under the influence – Any drunk driver poses an immediate danger not only to themselves, but also to fellow passengers, other road users, and even pedestrians anywhere close to their car!

However some might argue that using a mobile phone when behind the wheel is equally as dangerous – If not more so – As using a mobile significantly distracts the driver from what is happening around them when behind the wheel.

What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!

Improving Driving Visibility

There are a variety of different factors which can influence how well – or how badly – you drive. These might be related to how much experience you have behind the wheel, or the condition you are driving in – But there are few elements that can turn a good driver into a bad one as much as driving with poor visibility.

If your windscreen is blocked by leaved, or if items inside your car are obstructing your view, or even if you don’t have your headlights on after dark, you are running a risk of not seeing a potential hazard until it’s too late – So make sure to always keep your visibility to a maximum.

Newly Passed Driver Tips

If you have recently passed your driving test, you are most likely either looking forward to finally getting out on the roads on your own, or already enjoying the freedom that being a newly qualified driver gives you – And quite rightly too, you’ve earned it!

We would only advise you to approach driving with caution to begin with. Your first few years behind the wheel are the most likely time you will have an accident, so remember to keep your excitement to a minimum and your concentration to a maximum to make sure you enjoy the start to your driving life as much as you should.

Bounce Back After Driving Test Failure

If you’re lucky enough to have passed your driving test on the first attempt, then you are one of a small minority. Most people need at least 2 or more attempts to tackle the driving test successfully, and some may require even more!

If you do unfortunately happen to fail your test, try to remember that you’re not alone. Instead of letting it get you down, it’s far better to bounce back from your failure and to focus on improving your skills so that you can pass the second time around!

Take Constructive Criticism

If you are now, or even if you ever have been, a learner driver, you are probably familiar with the idea that not everything always comes naturally when you’re behind the wheel. So if you have struggled to pick up a particular manoeuvre or found clutch control to be difficult at some points, you have probably had your fair share of constructive criticism.

Unfortunately sometimes it feels that if our instructors point out our mistakes, they are just trying to belittle you – But try not to feel that way. After all, every instructor is only as good as their pupils, so instead of getting defensive or disheartened, try listening to their feedback and practising until you get it perfect.
