New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Welcome to the final Blog post from Britannia Driving School for 2016 – And what a year it’s been! Hopefully we have helped you to achieve your aims this year – If not, why not add those to your New Year’s Resolutions for 2017?

With tomorrow being New Year’s Eve, make sure to always drive safely (As we’re sure you do all year round!) If you’re out celebrating and you’re the designated driver, stay on the soft drinks throughout the night, and if you’re drinking then make sure not to get behind the wheel – And that goes for in the morning too!

Safe driving, and Happy New Year from Britannia Driving School!

Goodbye 2016 – Hello 2017!

As the year of 2016 draws to a close, it’s time to look back and reflect on what a year it has been. The year that gave us Brexit, Donald Trump as President, Harambe and a multitude of other noteworthy events – But what did 2016 mean to you? Perhaps you started taking your driving lessons with us this year, or even better, perhaps we helped you to pass your driving test?

Lets get those New Years Resolutions in place now – If you’re revising for your Theory Test, make it your aim to get this done in 2017. If you’re already on the roads, why not plan to improve your driving skills with a Pass Plus test this New Year?

Post-Christmas Celebrations

Many of us may have been celebrating over this Festive Season – From breaking up from work for the year (Hooray!) to Christmas Eve, through to Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and planning your New Year’s Eve night out, there’s certainly a lot of festivities to attend if you are so inclined.

Just remember that if you are likely to be out celebrating this Christmas period, to always drive safely – If you are planning to be drinking on your nights out, leave the car keys at home.

Driving This Boxing Day

Happy Boxing Day from Britannia Driving School!

We hope you have all had a very merry Christmas, and are now looking forward to celebrating a spectacular New Year! Do take care if you are likely to be out driving today – Not only will traffic be busy due to many eager shoppers taking advantage of the Boxing Day sales, but also due to the cold winter weather the roads will likely be slippy and wet.

The Last Friday Before Christmas

It’s finally here, after the last several weeks (Or months in some cases!) of waiting, preparing, shopping, moaning and panicking – We have arrived at the last Friday before Christmas.

If you’re breaking up from work today, watch out for heavier traffic than usual. If you’re out celebrating your Christmas break tonight, make sure to leave the keys at home unless you’re the designated driver – And if you’re out driving over the weekend, make sure to drive safely.

Most importantly, have a very Merry Christmas everybody – From all of us here at Britannia!

Road Conditions This Christmas

Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? Well you may want to re-think that dream if you are, especially if you are likely to be behind the wheel this Christmas Day.

The road conditions over December are notoriously dangerous as it is with colder and wetter weather making the road surface slippery and unpredictable – If there is a layer of thick white snow all over the roads to contend with on top of that, you will need to be very careful driving this Christmas.

The Christmas Countdown Has Begun

With only four days left to go until Christmas, it’s time to get out your check-list and make sure you are all fully prepared – Have you finished all of your Christmas shopping? Do you have all of your ingredients for your delicious Christmas dinner?

If you’re in a last-minute rush for Christmas presents, remember that Driving Lessons make an excellent stocking-filler. If you’re the one who has volunteered to be the designated driver this Christmas day, remember to drive safely.

Christmas Decorations Dangers

There are a lot of great things about Christmas – The festive food, Christmas songs on the radio, seeing friends and family during our Christmas break – It’s no wonder it is the most wonderful time of the year.

One great attraction over the Festive period is the decorations people often adorn their houses in – Illuminating their street for all to see. However do beware these decorations, as attractive as they look, they can easily distract you when you’re behind the wheel.

Out and About This Christmas

You may or may not have noticed, but the Christmas period is now firmly upon us. We would advise you to take care when you are out and about this December, whether that means Christmas Shopping or driving around dropping presents off to people’s houses, or if you are visiting family and friends this festive season.

With the cold and wet weather, the roads can be particularly dangerous, so always make sure to set out with more time than necessary for your journey and to drive safely and below the legal speed limit.
