Do not stop too close to a vehicle displaying a Blue Badge: remember, the occupant may need More room to get in or out

You MUST switch off the engine, headlights and fog lights

You MUST ensure you do not hit anyone when you open your door. Check for cyclists or other traffic

Is it safer for your passengers (especially children) to get out of the vehicle on the side next to the kerb? Then you should do so

How Far Do You Drive From a Cyclist?

A new law was introduced earlier this year to protect cyclists on the road in Britain.

The rule dictates that drivers must leave a minimum distance away from a cyclist when overtaking or travelling alongside a bicycle or they could face a punishment.

UK drivers could be penalised with a £100 fine and three penalty points if caught travelling to close to a bicycle.

Driving With Dogs

How to keep your dog properly restrained in the car

The first rule of doggie car travel is to restrain them properly. The RSPCA recommends a dog guard, a crate, or a harness that you clip onto the seatbelt or into the seatbelt buckle.

Make sure that your dog can’t move about too much and distract you, get flung about by the car’s movement, and of course, isn’t going to be thrown loosely if you have an accident.
