Mysterious Potato Attack

Josh Delaney was driving his Toyota Landcruiser towards Parliament House at 2.30am when his windscreen was struck and cracked by a potato.

An hour earlier in the same area, another motorist said his car was hit by what he first thought was an apple.

Chris Ciantar said, “I heard a very loud bang and thought I’d hit a small Roo but discovered substance on my car when I arrived at work.”

The fear is that what may be a prank, possibly done by kids, will lead to a serious crash if a windscreen is smashed.

The vehicles RFID and computer vision “grab and go” technology automatically records the products customers select, receipts are emailed in seconds.

“This is one way in which we’re leveraging new technology to make shopping easier for our customers by essentially bringing the store to them,” – Stop & Shop President Mark McGowan.

Prince Philip Doesn’t Wear a Seat Belt

The Duke of Edinburgh was pictured driving without a seat belt, 48 hours after being involved in a crash!

A spokeswoman said, “suitable words of advice have been given to the driver”.

It has been said by the women who broke her wrist in the crash, that the prince hasn’t even apologised.

What are the rules on seat belts?

  • Passengers and drivers must wear a belt when on a public road if one is fitted.
  • If you are caught not wearing a seatbelt, you could receive an on-the-spot £100 fine.
  • No penalty points are given for not wearing a seatbelt.

Myth Busted: Car Insurance

Is third party cover always cheaper than comprehensive?

Should my premium go down or stay the same each year if I don’t claim?

Want the answers? You’re in the right place.

Does lower mileage mean cheaper insurance? Often assumed, but not necessarily the case and does vary by provider. Because of those who don’t drive much might be seen as not being confident behind the wheel, being prone to accidents. If you do drive fewer miles, it may be worth looking into low mileage or ‘pay-as-you-drive‘ insurance.

Comprehensive cover allows you to drive any car? Being ‘fully comp’ automatically covers you to drive someone else’s car, right? Well, this doesn’t actually always apply. Check your documents before driving someone else’s car, you might not be covered for third party liability.

Find out more next week, when we talk about how putting the policy in your parent’s name won’t lower your premium!

This day and age of technology advancements it can be difficult to get your head around it all. And this won’t help.
