After a series of driving lessons where I live in Nottingham, where the instructor took any confidence I had and stomped on it then spat it out, I decided to take an intensive course in Surrey where my parents live. This had the added bonus of my mum looking after my baby and toddler while I drove! Holly on the desk was brilliant, and managed to sort me out a 5 day intensive course with Paul, with a test on day 6. Paul was bloody brilliant. He quickly assessed my ability and tailor made each lesson to sort out my areas of weakness, whilst bolstering my confidence at every point. Every lesson was hard work, but was also a lot of fun too. Whenever I had a confidence failure he put me back on the right road (pun intended), whether it was during the lesson or between lessons via text. Today I had my test. It was my first attempt and I passed with only 2 minors!! I’m absolutely thrilled, dead proud of myself and grateful to Paul and Britannia (not to mention my mum for babysitting!). I’m glad Nottingham proved to be lousy in the driving instructor front, because I found a real gem in Britannia, and Paul has taught me to be a safe and confident driver. I also now have a fondness for minis! Many thanks Paul 🙂
I have just passed my test today with just 4 minor faults on my 1st attempt. I needed to pass as my international licence was about to run out and I am a builder so needed to pass to save my job. The instruction was excellent and I would recommend nick to anyone and have passed his details already to relatives. His knowledge of the local area is excellent and he prepared me for the test as he knew all the routes that we would be using on My test. Thank you nick for your time and patience I am very grateful.
I have passed my test today and I would like to say BIG thank you to Albert, my driving instructor. It was my third attempt but the first one with Albert. He is very knowledgeable and encouraging. Albert very quickly identified my faults and pushed me hard to improve on them, he explains things in a very clear way which really helped me to make a quick progress with my driving. I would definitely recommend Albert to everyone!
Had Courtley as an instructor. He understood my level of driving skill and told me what I was doing wrong and we worked on my faults, after a few weeks of lessons I passed with only two minors.
Learning to drive is an extreme learning curve and a great accomplishment so picking the right instructor is vital! I went with Britannia Driving School who allocated me John, he was a great teacher and with his encouragement to push me, which was what I needed, I was able to pass first time!
A big thank you to Neil for all his lessons. I passed first time with only 3 minors. Neil’s laid back, confident style of teaching meant my confidence soared. I would recommend him any day of the week!
Passed my test first time yesterday with 7 minors! So chuffed!!! Steve was a great instructor – friendly, patient, kept lessons relaxed and pepped you up when you needed. Definitely recommend him to anyone! Woohoo!

I passed my practical exam on the first try with only 4 minor faults thanks to the excellent instruction Darren provided. His expertise and easy going style allowed me to improve my driving skills and build my confidence for passing the exam. Driving with Darren was an absolute pleasure!

I would just like to say a BIG thank you to my instructor Robert! I passed my test today, first time, with 3 minors and with 9 days of lessons! Robert really helped increase my confidence and ensured I was well prepared for my test. Also thanks to Holly in the office for helping me to find an instructor who was available for my test at such short notice!
Daniel is a really patient instructor who made it really easy to learn to drive. I really enjoyed all my lessons.
Would just like to thank Britannia and my instructor Sam. Sam was quick to pick up my areas of weakness and alerted me to these from the first few minutes of being in the car with him. I was surprised that despite all his other pupils he was able to remember specific good and bad points concerning my driving from the week or weeks before. His clear instructions and handy tips ensured I passed soon after taking up lessons with him. Thank you for everything. Good luck to all the learner drivers hoping to pass soon.
I had to change my driving instructor a couple of weeks before my test due to unfortunate circumstances, and was lucky enough to get Tim. Tim spotted things that no one had before and was by far the best instructor I’ve had. He’s knowledgeable and encouraging and was excellent all round. I’d recommend him in a heartbeat.
Would like to say thank you so much to Vinni for giving me the confidence and skills to pass my driving test today. I felt well prepared for my test and I would highly recommend Vinni to anyone. Vinni is an Excellent driving instructor.
Just want to say a massive thanks to John, he is a excellent instructor. Previously I had a few lessons with a different company which I found hard to follow as there was no real relationship between myself and the instructor, with John it was totally different he made me feel relaxed and confident from the very first lesson (being a fellow Chelsea supporter this made it even more easier!!!) I really should of passed first time but a silly mistake by myself caused otherwise but second time as they say in football “it was in the back of the net” I would definitely recommend anyone looking to start taking lessons to go with Britannia and especially John as he fills you with confidence from the word go but also makes the lessons enjoyable with all kinds of great stories…So I will say again…Thanks John for making it so easy (and also Chelsea for the Premiership and Champions League double this season…Come on the Chelsea!!!)
I passed my test on the second attempt and throughout this nerve-wrecking journey of taking classes and taking the test, my instructor VINNI helped me in overcoming my fears of driving especially roundabouts. He was very supportive and never overlooked any minor faults that I made, in fact he showed me the right way of driving.
Neil was simply fantastic! He was pragmatic, fun and above all you could tell that he loved to teach. That’s what made all the difference! Passed my test with just 3 minors (after having failed the last time with 2 dangerous and 2 serious when learning from another instructor / another school!) Highly recommend him and Britannia 🙂
