ROAD WORK DISRUPTION HOPEFULLY REDUCED

Road works cause mayhem for drivers and pedestrians alike and they often seem never ending however, the government have stepped in and introduced fines for companies who fail to complete road works within their committed timeframe.

Companies that go over the allotted time could receive fines of up to £10,000 a day on busy roads. It is hoped the fines will encourage companies to speed things up and finish work on time. Councils will have to spend the fines on transport related policies, hopefully improving our roads further.
