Calls for Graduated License Restrictions

Calls are being made to increase the restrictions on young and newly qualified drivers, in the wake of research revealing the shockingly high statistics of young drivers involved in motoring accidents.

Of the teenagers killed or seriously injured in car accidents, almost a half of these were behind the wheel or were passengers in vehicles driven by people 19 years old or younger.

Calls are now being made to the government to follow in the footsteps of other countries, by implementing curbs on new drivers, such as limiting the amount of young people are allowed in the car at any one time, late night curfews and a minimum period of one year of learning to drive before being allowed to site the driving test – All part of the “Graduated License” many would recommend.
